Depart America - an overnight flight will take you to Vienna.

Arrival in Vienna with pick up by a member of the PDM staff who will assist you in transfer to your centrally located hotel in beautiful downtown Vienna. Following hotel check-in, opportunities for a quick walk around the city as well as a refreshing cocktail will be available. Your tour guide Stephan Guertler will personally greet you before you embark on enjoying a delicious, regional three-course dinner with additional cocktails, as well as Austrian beers and wines.

Following breakfast, a private shuttle will take you to play the Fontana golf course, a club which formally hosted the European Tour. The course boasts wide fairways, large, immaculate greens and many waste  areas. Particularly appealing, the last two holes are spectacular as they lead around a lake with the impressive club house as the back drop. Upon completion, your chauffeur will take you to Vienna for a guided walking tour. With the help of a local guide, you will see top attractions: the Gothic architecture of St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg Imperial Palace, and the Spanish Riding School. This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history of Vienna.

Following breakfast you will enjoy playing the GC Adamstal. The club is home to the 19(!) hole Championship Course that is arguably the most spectacular in the European Alps. The course offers breath taking views and an experience unlike any other as well as a drop down par 3 “19th hole”. Afterwards, you will be awarded another opportunity to tour even more of what Vienna has to offer.  Your tour guide will entertain and educate you with stories about life in the city as you visit hidden alleyways, elegant boulevards, and the city’s most iconic monuments. Learn about the royal Habsburg dynasty and the legends of Hero Square, then visit the sites of fierce battles in the Second World War. For dinner you will experience one of the many popular “Heuriger” (wine tavern) where you will sample a variety of local dishes accompanied by the vineyard’s own wines. A ‚Heuriger‘ is the Viennese word for a wine tavern.

Following breakfast you will tackle the host venue of the European Tour’s Austrian Open, the Diamond Country Club, where the Austrian “opponent” including the team captain will welcome you. Here you will play a friendly, but competitive Ryder Cup style match against an Austrian team where new friendships are sure to be forged. The challenging course rewards accurate shot making and punishes wayward shots with many a water hazard.

After golf you will tour the of the town of Dürnstein in the region of Wachau. Enjoy the rolling countrysides with plenty of vineyards and fruit groves, as well as a collection of more than 5,000 historic monuments, it’s no wonder that the Wachau Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Austria’s most popular tourist attractions. Dürnstein offers a charming mix of medieval and Baroque architecture, with labyrinthine cobbled lanes and pastel-hued houses with red-tiled roofs. Upon returning to Vienna, you will have dinner at the popular restaurant Plachutta which is famous for it’s “Tafelspitz”, a boiled tri-tip accompanied with root vegetables, spices and cooked until tender; Tafelspitz is a favorite dish of the Viennese kitchen and usually served with applesauce-horseradish sauce and fried parsley potatoes.

Following breakfast the private shuttle will take you on a three hour drive to the scenic lake Mondsee (near Salzburg) where you will enjoy a delicious Austrian two-course lunch on the lakeside terrace at the Golfclub am Mondsee. Following lunch you will play a round. The Golfclub am Mondsee  is a member of Austria’s “leading golf courses” and boasts several holes along the picturesque lake.

After golf you will travel to Salzburg for a guided walking tour. The Hill’s are Alive with the Sound of Salzburg…only a few short minutes in Salzburg’s Old Town is all it takes to realize that the city incorporates the very best of Austria into one pretty little package. Sprawling mountain views, ornate Baroque architecture, stunning palaces, bustling market squares, Sound of Music souvenirs, and of course, the music (and birthplace) of Mozart, make Salzburg one of Austria’s top tourist destinations.

Following breakfast you will travel to Golfclub Gut Altentann near lake Wallersee for a round of golf. The Golfclub Gut Altentann was the first club in Continental Europe designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus. The “golden bear” made best use of the rolling terrain where he incorporated strategic bunkers and undulated greens.

In the afternoon you will visit the world famous Hallstatt where you will embark on a guided quest around the picturesque town, snugly tucked between salt mountains and translucent lake. Explore the settlement of quaint 16th century buildings which rest on land that has been inhabited since the Iron Age. Follow clues and solve puzzles to discover the town’s ancient history. Following your “quest,” you will conclude your tour of Austria by traveling to the Vienna Airport where you will spend the night in a four-star hotel. Here, host Stephan Guertler invites you to a final three-course farewell dinner with Austrian delicacies at the hotel.

After breakfast in the hotel you will return to the airport where you will check in for your flight back to the U.S.

If desired, we will happily arrange individual extensions to your trip should you desire more time in Austria.
